Render Process

I have completed my model and rendered the animation on maya. The texturing process is hard in my case because my robots appearance is in a cartoon style. So i am stuck between having a realistic robot or not. so i settled for a cel shaded texture on my robot making it look like a hand drawn model. like the style borderlands uses.

The final maya concept and the final photoshop concept have their similarities and differences. one being the limbs e.g. the forearms and shins of the robot. i had to slim down the appearance of those parts because it looked out of proportion to the head and torso. i also had to remove the shoulder cover because i wanted an easier animating job and having the joints covered makes things more complicated. so the fire-arms coming out of the shoulders were moved up the colar bone slightly so they are connected to the torso. the weapons were also animated slightly and simpily for example i made the six barrels on the mini-gun rotate and the grenade belt feeds through the grenade launcher.

i used a feature called ambient occulation to make the model look more proffesional. though the textures that were put onto the model were taken off while i used the occulation, but this hurdle was easily reversable using layers.
